So far I've had good results with my diet change. I've been following it strictly for the last month and have lost 10lbs. It has been challenging to find a variety of food but I am picking up more and more options daily.
Ski season has started here in Colorado. Most of the resorts are open now but only with limited terrain. The snowpack has been unseasonable low but we're getting there. I've gotten two days in so far and have another full day planned this weekend. The resorts have been hard at work snowmaking and we've gotten a few storms so more and more terrain will be opening.
So far I've felt great at altitude. Haven't had the chance to really test my mountain endurance yet because of the limited terrain. You can only do one run so many times. My legs are getting their too, it usually takes a few full days on the mountain to get your "ski legs" back.
Saturday my family and I are heading out into the mountains outside of Colorado Springs to cut down a Christmas tree. Every year the forest service allows you to purchase a permit to do so. This will be our first year doing so and I'm looking forward to starting a new tradition. We've had cold but dry weather so the dirt mountain roads should be passable. It'll be good conditions to get out in the mountains and find a tree.
