Gassing Out

I started doing crossfit about a month ago, I am in decent shape but still need work. I have been having trouble of just seeming to run out of gas quick. I just seem to fatigue fast I may get one rep in and slow way down I tighten up and feel sluggish.

To just give you a idea of what I at yesterday and worked yesterday evening.  I got up had a E&F shake and my dose of lean life, I had two servings of Bruce's Sweet Potato Pancakes. For a mid morning snack I had a meal replacment shake with water.  For lunch I had a turkey wrap, a few corn chips and salsa and a apple.  Then I had another E&F shake mid afternoon and about ten mintues before working out I had a GU pouch.

I know I still need work and it takes time, but what am I missing here? Not enough protien, carbs, too much of this or that?

  • Hi Davy, it sounds like you might not be getting enough protein, especially at breakfast. Balancing all three macronutrients at each meal is a key part of eating healthy, which is why you will see protein, fat and carbohydrates in our Meal Replacement Shake. Try adding some lean sausage or ham with breakfast. I would also then maybe try our Protein Plus shake for a mid-morning snack. It provides more protein and fewer calories, ideal for a snack.

We recently released our new powdered pre-workout, Brute Force. It is AMAZING, and I'm not just saying that because I work here lol. It really keeps you pumped and energized throughout a workout. There is caffeine in it, so I don't recommend taking it too close to the E&F though.

It does take time unfortunately, there are no quick fixes when it comes to getting into shape. It sounds like you are on the right track, so with some tweaks here and there you should be good! Be sure to let us know what you tried and the results!

  • Kimberly, thanks for getting back to me.  I allot of times will eat eggs at breakfast but still not allot of meats, I will try throwing that in with the protein plus as well.

Refresh my memory where should I be on all three of the macros?

  • Davy, to add to Kimberlys advise, I'm not seeing enough healthy fats in your diet. Avocados, nuts, Extra virgin Olive oil or coconut oil, maybe some almond butter. These fats are healthy and add concentrated calories that can keep your metabolism fired up! Just an FYI. Coach P
