Time for the wedding crunch

I just started my 28 day challenge yesterday. I am getting married in the middle of March and like everyone I want to look good at it. I am 29 years old and currently 6'3" and 250 pounds. I'm an avid outdoorsman, but I know that if I continue to hold this much weight it will impair my ability to do what I love the most and that is just getting out and hiking and hunting in the hills. I would love to get back to 220 pounds to where I was most comfortable and fit. I was nervous about being hungry a lot but after one day those fears are subdued as I felt good all day yesterday. I am excited to get this going and really looking forward to putting in my best effort. I am pretty comfortable with the breakfast and lunch diet but I need to find some good recipes to help me eat a more balanced and healthy dinner.

  • Welcome Chris! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! It can be a great motivator, at least it was for me to fit in that expensive dress! 

    I see you ordered our cookbook, The Wild Kitchen. Personally, I think it is the best book ever and that author really knew what she was writing about ;) Please let me know if you have any questions about any of the recipes or ingredients. My personal favorite thing to cook with is spaghetti squash. It's low calorie but high fiber, plus you can make it fit any flavor profile. It also keeps really well so you can make it ahead of time without compromising quality.

  • Just over a week into it and I'm still grinding! The greatest part I have seen so far in my brief stint of the Wilderness Athlete products is how much energy I have now. I have to be at work early so I enjoy going to the gym directly after work and it used to be a real drag to even get there. Now when I show up I have the energy I need to put in a good workout. The other is the cookbook!! Its a must have for anyone that wants to make eating healthy taste damn good still. What is your favorite recipe for the spaghetti squash? I'm relatively new to the world of spaghetti squash :)

  • Isn't all of the energy wonderful? These products are really good at keeping you going without any negative side effects, truly beautiful! My favorite with the spaghetti squash is on page 48, the Spaghetti Squash Turkey Bake with Pesto Sauce. It's easy and makes a lot, so it's great for leftovers the next day. You can also substitute ground beef or ground wild game to change it up.

  • So far I'm loving this product. I have one more week of this 28 day supply but I will definitely keep going. The cookbook has been amazing and I'm loving all of the different recipes and ideas and how great they all taste and how you can substitute all the different meats with wild game. With life and all the crazy things that come with it I haven't been able to get to the gym everyday but have been getting there at least four times a week. I can feel it in my body and see the difference these last few weeks have done for my fitness. This isn't just a 4 week thing its definitely a lifestyle changer

  • Well the last month I started the wilderness athlete program and it was everything I hoped for. The supplements kept me full of energy and ready to put in my full effort everyday. This is definitely a lifestyle changer and I will continue to use these products in the future. After 28 days I feel stronger and I lost over 10 pounds. I'm going to wait until I get back from vacation at the beginning of April but I can wait to start another cycle of the 28 day challenge. pictures to come
