1st Western Hunt Success

My first western hunt went as good as I could have dreamed it up to be.  We spent a week in the high country of western MT.  We camped about 3 miles from the trailhead and hiked around 5-10 miles daily.  I brought the WA BHA stack along to help me through.  I live at 300' so I was concerned with the elevation, and I had no adverse affects so I am assuming the altitude advantage helped me.  I started every day off with a "superman" and the multi-vitamin, and ended with the nighttime optimizer.  While I feel I was physically prepared, nothing could prepare me for the actual side-hilling, blow downs, and most importantly the meat pack!  I never woke up sore, and was always ready to roll the next day.  I was fortunate enough to kill my first mule deer about 3 miles from our base camp.  The guide was shocked when I asked to help break down and pack out the meat.  What an amazing and proud moment when I was side-hilling with a loaded pack of fresh meat and beautiful antlers.  My preparation paid off.  Thanks to WA for motivation over the past year in my preparation and keeping my body optimized!  I have daydreamed for years of carrying a heavy pack in the mountains (we just drag the deer out east), and my dream came true! I will most definitely make it happen again! #MountainBuilt
